FAVC is a vital association that provides a network of support and professional development to the leaders of Florida's Volunteer Centers. Through quarterly meetings, FAVC members discuss new opportunities for volunteers, professional development and grant opportunities for volunteer leaders, as well as share best practices to ensure that Florida's volunteers have the best possible volunteer experience. Volunteer Centers are the doorway to volunteering. Through FAVC, Volunteer Centers can continue to provide rewarding experiences for people of all ages who want to volunteer in their local communities.

RSVP connects volunteers age 55 and over with service opportunities in their communities that match their skills and availability. From building houses to immunizing children, from enhancing the capacity of non-profit organizations to improving and protecting the environment, RSVP volunteers put their unique talents to work to make a difference.
Sarasota Coastal Credit Union has consistently been awarded the 4-Star Excellent Rating from Bauer Financial Reports, Inc., the nation's leading primary financial institution research firm. Paul Bauer, president of the firm says, "Sarasota Coastal Credit Union exemplifies the best in credit unions: strength, safety, longevity and commitment to its members, with a track record to prove it." Sarasota Coastal Credit Union estimates that it provided $2,166,578 in direct financial benefits to its 24,259 member/owners during the twelve months ending in June 2005. These benefits are equivalent to $89 per member/owner or about $170 per member household. We provided these benefits by charging members less for loans and by paying members more for deposits compared to banking institutions in Florida. We promote the economic well-being of our members, including those of modest means, through a system that is cooperative, member-owned, volunteer directed, not-for-profit, and therefore tax-exempt. We provide a secure financial choice for all consumers, and the financial products and services that all of our members want and need. We continue to invest in people by reaching out to help those who have traditionally been underserved: like seniors living on fixed incomes, single working mothers (about 60% of our members are female), and small business owners struggling to raise capital in the marketplace to build their dreams. The mission of the Sarasota County Contracted Human Services Program is to enhance the community's capacity to meet established human services outcomes through programs and services which build strong children, youth, adults, and families, empower people to be independent, self-sufficient, and responsible citizens, and support to people in crisis.
We are a community foundation serving Sarasota County with the Manatee Community Foundation and the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund as supporting organizations. Founded in 1979 by the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council, our mission is providing stewardship to our communities, enabling caring people and organizations to increase their ability to serve, For Good. For Ever. We administer more than 640 charitable funds that support the passions of our donors, across a wide spectrum of causes. Among them are: education, health, human services, animal welfare and the environment. Our Nonprofit Resource Center is the resource local nonprofits trust for guidance in building strong, successful organizations. Each year, we make a positive impact on important community issues and needs by distributing grants and scholarships that have totaled more than $60 million since 1987.
